Celebrating the passion, dedication, and achievements of hockey players and builders aged 80 and over.
Founded to honor the enduring spirit of senior hockey players, the USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame is a non-profit senior hockey organization that celebrates individuals aged 80 and above who continue to inspire on and off the ice. These are not just athletes - they are pioneers, mentors, and lifelong stewards of the game.
Our Hall of Fame resides at the Blue Sport Stable in Superior, Colorado. This fitting location was chosen in part due to its ties to The Real Iron Men of Hockey — a group whose resilience, camaraderie, and love for the game sparked a movement that led to the creation of this Hall.
The USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame was founded by Fred Merchant, an 88-year-old active hockey player whose vision grew from his work with The Real Iron Men of Hockey - a group dedicated to celebrating the achievements of senior players. Fred's passion, combined with the overwhelming support of the Long Hockey community at Blue Sport Stable in Superior, CO, turned that vision into reality. Long Hockey's players, volunteers, and donors continue to be the backbone of this organization.
We invite you to nominate a hockey legend, attend an upcoming celebration, or simply explore the stories of our inspiring inductees. Join us in honoring those who show that hockey truly is a lifelong passion.
